A Unique Approach to Fitness and Wellness
At GET'N FIT, we're not your typical gym – in fact, we're not a gym at all. We're a fitness coaching and yoga studio where every member is part of our team, celebrated for their individuality, and supported on their unique journey to better health.
For 20 years, we've discovered that getting started is often the hardest and most intimidating part of any fitness journey. That's why we've developed a comprehensive approach that begins with understanding you as an individual. Through our MAPPing (Multipoint Assessment for Personal Programming) Session, we evaluate everything from your posture and gait to your vision and balance to learn more about your current physical condition. We also discuss your current health, life, and work status along with what you expect from your fitness journey and what your goals are. We pull all this information together to create a complete picture of where you are today and where you want to be next week, next month, and next year.
What truly sets us apart is our dedicated Program Writing Department. Instead of following generic workout plans or being left to figure things out on your own, every semi-private member receives a personalized program based on their MAPPing session. We believe anyone can feel better than they’ve ever felt in their lives by using proper, consistent functional training and yoga practices provided by fitness professionals who continue learning and bringing you the most scientifically relevant and effective training methods and yoga practices available.
Our approach combines intentional exercise with an attentive, knowledgeable staff and cutting-edge training methods. Whether you choose our Semi-Private Coaching, Group Coaching, or Yoga classes, you'll find a supportive environment focused on your success. As member Bev Hollingsworth shares after over six years with us: "I wish I would have known how good I feel, how energized I feel... Having a trained coach helps me get the most out of my workouts. I am stronger now than I was two years ago."
Understanding the Value:
Addressing Common Concerns About Fitness Investment
We understand that financial and time investments might be some of your top concerns when considering a fitness training program. It's natural to have questions about whether the cost will fit into your budget, or if you have enough free time in your busy schedule to make a 3-5 day per week commitment. At GET’N FIT we believe that investing in yourself, your health, and doing things that help you live an active, independent life is absolutely worth it. To help you see why, here are some eye-opening facts and statistics that address these common concerns.
First, let's talk about cost versus value. According to a study published in the Journal of the American College of Cardiology; healthcare costs for inactive adults are $1,437 higher per year than for active adults.(1) An article on healthjournalism.org states that on average more than 300,000 older adults are hospitalized annually for fall-related hip fractures. It also shares that the cost for fall-related hospitalization averages $30,000 and that cost rises as age rises(3)
When you consider that regular strength training reduces fall risk by 34-68%(2), the need for investment in prevention activities becomes clear.
Time is another common concern. Many worry about committing to 3 semi-private coaching sessions and 2 yoga classes per week. That's why our program offers flexibility – you choose the appointment time & class times that fit into your schedule while getting expert support everytime you come in.
The American College of Sports Medicine confirms that 2-3 strength sessions weekly is sufficient for most adults to see significant improvements. Our members who attend 2-3 semi-private or group coaching sessions along with 2 yoga classes per week consistently see better results than those who perform cardio/walking only workouts or attend sporadically.
Consider member Kris Toyne's experience: "I truly appreciate all of the continuing education the GET'N FIT Team does in order to help us with our individual issues... Without my membership, I would not have the variety of exercise or the self-discipline to keep at the level of fitness I enjoy now."
When you break down the investment of a GET’N FIT membership, each supervised coaching session costs less than a single personal training session elsewhere. The average cost of 1 personal training session in the United States is $50-$100 for a one hour session. The average cost per one hour session for a GF Semi-Private member is $17-$20. The average cost of 1 yoga class in the United States is between $15-$25, at GF your average class cost is $6-$9 per class. Plus, our members save an average of approximately $1,800 annually on other health services. A study by Harvard Medical School found that individuals participating in relaxation programs like yoga & meditation, used 43% fewer medical services, resulting in an average savings of $2300 per person annually.(5)
Remember, this isn't just about exercise – it's about investing in your future independence, health, and quality of life. When you factor in that age-related muscle loss begins around age 30 and that the decline in muscle mass can be at a rate of approximately 3% to 8% per decade with an acceleration after age 60,(4) strength training and yoga become a need instead of an option that can wait till later. This is only one reason why we often say at GET'N FIT, a membership is not an expense, it's an investment that typically saves you from spending money on prescriptions, doctors visits, and preventable health issues.
